This interior remodel reimagined the layout and visual language of several spaces, including higher education classrooms, the airport FBO, offices and conference rooms. By selectively demolishing walls and relocating certain uses, building occupants can more easily navigate the building and flow smoothly between areas. Opening up the space also allows more light to penetrate deeper into the airport, improving focus and productivity for workers and students. The University-themed interior finishes help the facility become an extension of the Minnesota State campus by creating a cohesive school identity while providing a timeless design for the City of Mankato and its airport operations. The project also incorporated the addition of entrance canopies on the exterior to help direct traffic to different areas of the building, greatly improving way-finding for visitors.
